Why is a Baby Massage essential?

Touch is the first and most vital sensory experience. Nurturing touch (or the lack of it) can impact the way we think, feel and relate to others, even for babies.

As their vision is still developing, babies are extremely tactile and enjoy massages immensely. The gentle strokes are soothing for babies. They calm fussy babies and help them to relax and sleep better.

Our certified and experienced therapists know the best ways to handle an uncomfortable child. Watch your child relax while we soothe their problem areas and digestion!

Baby Massage: Healing Power of Touch

Our Baby Massage combines Western and Chinese massage techniques for your baby to enjoy a unique and beneficial massage. It is highly recommended for babies between 1 to 6 months, but babies over the age of 6 months will also benefit from this experience.

We use PIGEON's Baby Massage Oil in our baby massages. It does not only moisturise, but also calms the mind and body, creating the perfect prelude to a peaceful night's sleep for your little one.

Baby massages can be done in the comfort and privacy of your home during the confinement period, or in our spas.

01

Preparation and Consultation

Before your baby's massage session at our spa, we take time to understand your baby's needs and preferences. We also ensure a calm and comfortable environment, with soothing music and gentle lighting to create a relaxing atmosphere for both you and your little one.

02

Massage Techniques

Our spa specialises in gentle and effective massage techniques tailored for babies. Using baby-safe oils, our skilled therapists employ soothing strokes, gentle kneading, and rhythmic movements that are ideal for your baby's delicate skin and developing muscles.

03

Focus Areas

Key areas include gentle massage strokes on the back, legs, arms, and tummy to promote relaxation and soothe any discomfort. We also address specific areas depending on your baby’s condition if needed, such as the tummy or jawline for babies experiencing teething discomfort.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is baby massage safe for newborns?

Yes, baby massage is generally safe for newborns when performed by trained professionals or under parental guidance after learning proper techniques. It promotes bonding and can have various health benefits.

At what age can I start a baby massage?

You can start gentle massage techniques with your baby as early as a few weeks old, once their umbilical cord stump has fallen off and any skin conditions have been addressed. Always consult with your paediatrician before starting any new practices.

How long does a typical baby massage session last?

A baby massage session typically lasts around 15 to 20 minutes, depending on your baby’s comfort level and engagement. It is important to follow your baby’s cues and keep the session enjoyable and relaxing.

Do I need to use specific oils or lotions for baby massage?

It is recommended to use baby-safe oils or lotions that are free from harsh chemicals, fragrances, and allergens. Natural oils like coconut oil, almond oil, or specially formulated baby massage oils are popular choices.

Can baby massage help with my baby's teething discomfort?

A gentle massage around the jawline, cheeks, and temples can provide soothing relief for teething discomfort. However, always consult with your paediatrician for appropriate teething remedies and care.

How often should I massage my baby?

You can massage your baby a few times a week or even daily if they enjoy it. Pay attention to your baby’s cues and preferences, and make sure the environment is calm and comfortable for the massage session.
